Símaverið - the telephone exchange

Símaverið was an experimental theatre venue in the times of the Sars-Cov-2 virus. Hosted by Lókal festival, it was a phone number the audience could call and select one of three plays. My work, Tímapöntun, was a 17 minute long waiting-tone-drama. The inner thoughts of an anxious person, Tómas Jónsson, whilst he is trying to order an appointment at a doctor are vocalized by the waiting tone voice and a grumpy receptionist, ending in a song with original lyrics, sung to the famous waiting tune broadworks music on hold.
